6.1 - Contributory and vicarious infringement
| While the person of the violator (direct infringer) is usually easy to single out, there are (increasing) cases where other persons helped the violator physically or mentally (contributory infringement) or opened the opportunity for the infringement for him ( vicarious infringement), e.g. by providing technical reproduction means. The liability of the contributory or vicarious infringer is lately a much discussed problem. |
